What is Ma Huang?
For a lot of people, maybe they don’t know more about Ma Huang. It is also well known as a weight loss product. But, in fact it is not different with Ephedra. Ma Huang is also known as Ephedra. Chinese called Ephedra as Ma Huang. Ephedra has been used for a long time to asthma and hay fever treatment. I doubt does it also can work and be taken as weight loss pills?

Beside this, a lot of people have known that Ephedra has been banned by FDA (U.S Food and Drug Administration). FDA advises consumers to stop using dietary supplements containing Ephedra. In order to protect consumers, the final rule from FDA was published on April 12, 2004. FDA banned the sale of dietary supplements containing ephedrine alkaloids.

The main ingredient of Ma Huang is Ephedra. In a long time, Ephedra has been used for asthma and hay fever treatment. So, it is doubted can help people to lose weight. Anyway, it maybe will not work properly for our body.

Medical study and side effects of Ma Huang
As a product which is contained Ephedra, Ma Huang also has many side effects as more as Ephedra. In many medical studies reported that Ma Huang may cause high blood pressure, sleeplessness, heart rate irregularities, heart attacks, seizures, strokes and even death.

According to Drugs.com and EMedTV.com, Ephedra also has other side effects such as:

1)    Rapid heart rate (tachycardia)
2)    Irregular heart rhythm
3)    Feelings of a rapidly or forcefully beating heart (known as heart palpitations)
4)    Chest pain or any other signs of a heart attack
5)    Blurred vision, one-sided weakness or paralysis, or any other signs of a stroke
6)    a serious allergic reaction including difficulty breathing; closing of your throat; swelling of your lips, tongue, or face; or hives;
7)    yellowing of the skin or eyes, etc

The banned
As a product which is contained Ephedra, Ma Huang also has been banned by FDA. FDA has decided to ban Ephedra because it has any serious side effects. For this reason, FDA has banned Ephedra (and also Ma Huang) on April, 12, 2004.

Conclusion
Mau Huang is not different with Ephedra. It is only different in name. It is very harmful for your body. Beside this, FDA has banned this product because it is too bad for consumer’s body. So, I don’t recommend this product for you. I suggest you to take others product which is has positive result for your body.
